Mapping Shipping Agents to SmartFreight

Before you can ship with SmartFreight you must setup the Shipping Agents and Shipping Agent Services in Business Central with the corresponding SmartFreight carrier and carrier service.

Optionally you can also map the Package Unit of Measure that each Shipping Agent accepts base on the carrier in SmartFreight.

Finding the carrier detail in SmartFreight

  1. Login to the SmartFreight dashboard
  2. Go to Shipping > Carriers

  3. Highlight a carrier and select Open, take note of the following values:
    • Short Name of the carrier

  4. Select Account Numbers, take note of the following values:
    • Service and Account No. of the services

  5. Select Item Descriptions, take note of the following values:
    • Description of the item description

Mapping Shipping Agents with SmartFreight Carriers

  1. Locate and open the Shipping Agents page, and highlight the Shipping Agent you wish to map.

    Field Explanation
    SmartFreight Carrier Code Short Name of the Carrier in SmartFreight
    Account No. Account No. of any Service in SmartFreight
    Manual Shipping Cost Use this when SmartFreight does not provide shipping cost calculation for the specified carrier, this will then allow you to manually enter the shipping cost
  2. Select Navigate > Line > Shipping Agents Services, and highlight the Shipping Agent Service you wish to map.

    SmartFreight Service Code Name of the Service in SmartFreight

Mapping Package Unit of Measure to with SmartFreight Carriers

Mapping Package Unit of Measure to SmartFreight Carriers allows you to use the same Package Unit of Measure across different carriers, or use a different code from the Item Description in SmartFreight.

  1. Locate and open the Package Unit of Measure Mapping page
  2. Create a new line for each Package Unit of Measure and Shipping Agent you wish to associate.

    Package Unit of Measure Code Package Unit of Measure you wish to associate
    Shipping Agent Code Shipping Agent you wish to associate
    Code Name of the Item Description in SmartFreight
  3. Repeat Step 2 for each Package Unit of Measure and Shipping Agent you wish to map.
